Powering the Future
Indigenous Partnership
Waste to Clean Energy
Metro Renewable Gas (MRG) tackles key challenges—waste, emissions, and clean energy—by transforming landfill-bound waste into opportunity. This project drives environmental impact, job creation, and meaningful partnerships with Indigenous and local communities, aligning with Canada’s goals for decarbonization and economic reconciliation.
What We Do
MRG is dedicated to advancing community-driven Waste-to-Clean-Energy solutions for a better future.
Metro Renewable Gas (MRG) is a forward-thinking project developer delivering an innovative, modular solution that transforms waste into clean energy. By combining advanced gasification and methanation technologies, MRG produces Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) from Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), Biomass - Construction & Demolition (C&D), and Class A Biosolids.
This transformative project offers a sustainable and scalable approach to waste-to-energy conversion — creating measurable environmental benefits and long-term economic opportunities for Indigenous and local communities.
By diverting waste from landfills and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, MRG is helping reduce our carbon footprint while supporting the transition to a low-carbon future.
Together, we’re turning waste into opportunity, reducing our footprint, and advancing the global transition toward decarbonization.

MRG's
Approach

Indigenous
Partnerships
MRG values authentic partnerships that deliver economic opportunity and lasting impact.
We are committed to advancing economic reconciliation through meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities and their affiliated partners.
Indigenous partnerships are central to our approach, grounded in a collaborative, true 50/50 co-ownership model that enables early collaboration, reduces project risk, and establishes a long-term legacy asset delivering shared value for all partners.

MRG incorporates key considerations across AIR, WATER, and POWER—integrating emissions management, water recycling, and efficient power use.
Solving Waste
Responsibly

AIR
(Emissions)
Fully enclosed, non-incineration process with controlled emissions and COâ‚‚ management.

WATER
(Use & Management)
Designed to manage and recycle water within the process, with a goal of minimizing discharge (ZLD approach).
POWER
(Consumption & Efficiency)
Energy requirements are
integrated into the system design, with opportunities to optimize efficiency.
