At Metro Renewable Gas (MRG), we partner with proven innovators and leading technologies to turn waste into clean, renewable natural gas

Meaningful Partners
Move the
Needle

At Metro Renewable Gas (MRG), we are bringing together best-in-class technologies to ensure our waste-to-RNG facility is efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible. By combining OMNI’s advanced gasification process with Vesta’s proven methanation system, we can convert everyday waste into clean, pipeline-ready renewable natural gas. Both technologies are delivered in modular units, reducing project risk, speeding up construction, and ensuring consistent performance.

OMNI provides the heart of MRG’s process with a proven gasification system that transforms a wide variety of minimally prepared wastes into pristine syngas, clean water, and a non-leachable, glass-like slag—producing no emissions to the atmosphere and no discharge to landfill.

The technology has been demonstrated at Technology Readiness Level (TRL 8) at large scale, generating over 200 GB of data. With nearly a decade of development and over $400M USD

in investment, it uses recycled heat and efficient carbon conversion to maximize energy output. Supplied in modular units and largely pre-assembled offsite, OMNI’s system delivers efficient, reliable, and low project risk.

VESTA Methanation
for Renewable Natural Gas

How it works: VESTA supports the decarbonization

of natural gas by using renewable resources through flexible process schemes that lower reliance on fossil fuels and help achieve environmental goals.

Vesta delivers the next step in the process—turning syngas into renewable natural gas (RNG). Their methanation technology is highly efficient, fully proven, and also provided in modular units for lower project risk and quicker installation. With a track record of success, Vesta’s system ensures a dependable supply of pipeline-quality RNG.

Process characteristics:

  • No recycle compressor

  • CO2 and H2O control heat of reaction

  • Easy to control
